Out Of Control!!
I regret that there is no simple fix. The only non destructive fix is to drill out the lock and replace the cylinder and locking assy---all other advice is the FUYAA

well...let's take a step back from the sledgehammer and review this:
trunk is opened using
1) remote key (IR transmitter...rx signals pump under seat to puff air, say 5 psi, through hose to the trunk locking mechanism...and opening)
2) center console switch (signals pump under seat to puff air, say 5 psi, through hose to the trunk locking mechanism...and opening)
3) mechanical linkage at trunk lock (you press and which unlatches locking mechanism)
if none of these are working you can try this - have a friend/you put firm body weight on trunk lid, pressing down WHILE AT SAME TIME invoking unlock (either or each of 1, 2, 3).
Over time, sometimes the mechanical latch freezes because there is too much pressure and which prevents the latch from unlocking. Be sure you're not pressing down on smooth sheet meal but the ridged portion which can withstand more pressure.
