Door lock and Heater Question......

Shouldn't all my doors lock when i start moving?? Mine don't i have to lock them myself. Also, when i put the heat on in the car, i can't get the heat to blow out the middle two vents which sucks cause you can really feel them when you are freezing.

Depends on which MY w210 you have. My '97 does not lock it's doors upon reaching 5mph in forward motion. Our '99 does, which also uses a different type of key system.

The middle two vents are only for cool/cold air. All of the outer vents are for the warm/hot air. I remember someone in a previous thread somewhere posted the flow diagram. It might actually have been on the w210 Tech CD.

Frequently a result of bad door switch. Worse case, they are intermittent and will lock, then unlock, and cycle through intermittently at speed. Kind of an Exorcist thing but may only be a new switch.

My most recent experience with this resulted in door not locking, then locking on it's own, speed/vibration undulations, courtesy interior lights would sometimes work, sometimes not....lights outside would not blink when Smartkey locked, and panel switch would not lock doors. The replacement of the switch did the trick....for all the above anomalies.
