How to remove PB. cable from rear hub? 2001 W210
I'm pushing out/in new hub bearings on my 01 wagon and can't quite see how to remove the parking brake cable?
The only reference I have is a youtube on an W163 model. Guy uses a screw driver to punch to remove. Not sure that would be the right thing to do on my model. If it punches out, does it seat back and stay there because of the plastic moulding clip on the other side?

Agreed and I've got a WIS, it's awesome. Except I can't find a specific dropdown on the removal of the brake cable. I've got diagram breakouts of the wheel hub but nothing that shows how that cable disconnects, like the post above (look for a clip on the cable end).

That might just be a solid idea to retain one for the sake of having another point of view.
I just got a tip that you use pliers or a screw driver to press in a tab on the end of the cable. It's visible once you take away the little metal butterfly mechanism the brake seats in. Once you depress that it's free to pop out. I think you need to lever the cable protector/clip out of the socket as well.
