Dash replacement
My 97 e420 has developed some small cracks in the dashboard around the passenger airbag. Seems strange for a car that's only 5-years old with 70K miles. Anyway, dealer wants $870 to replace the dash.
I've look on the web for sellers of that part, but can't find anything (benzbin, etc.). Anyone ehave some ideas?

There was a dash cover up for auction on ebay last week that did not sell. If yours is the same color you may try to contact the seller. Item number #1824233460 ; # 1827182162 (was listed twice) or search for "mercedes new dash" at completed items.

I had my dash replaced under factory warranty at 40000 miles. It seems that these are prone to cracking!
You may want to wait until the crack is bad enough, though.

1997 E420
Well, finally got a crack on the dash of my '97 E420, at 59K miles. About a 1/4 in. tear right around the passenger airbag. Just came out of Starmark too. So along with the squeaking driver's seat, nonexistent AM reception, MAF failure, rusted trunklid, and cracked control arm bushing I guess I have a pretty complete W210 ownership experience. I had the transmission fluid changed at the 60K service, so hopefully the transmission won't blow up anytime soon. That would be the last straw. Other than these annoying items, love the engine and the car!
