E320 1999 driven into the ground
Hello my 1999 E320 4matic that I just purchased apparently has never seen a tool whatsoever. It was running like crap so we replaced the fuel filter and noticed it still had the factory Staples. Showing that the fuel filter had never been changed. In the last two weeks I have replaced the idler pulley, tensioner, two sert belts, stuff like that. Yesterday the rear brakes locked up and started smoking. Granted that when I bought the car the ABS light was on so I knew that the brakes were going to be next on the list. However I have run into problem after problem with aftermarket parts especially since it seems that everything on this car is original and with 190,000 miles and the fact that it sat for 2 years in a field is very concerning to me so gaskets etc I am sure are in bad condition. My problem is everything that I'm finding online as far as problems I may encounter and tools I may need do not fit. Just like yesterday's battle installing the new tensioner on the side of the road. It was calling for e10 or E12 female torx bit but neither of those fit. Does anyone know where I can find any original specs for this year and model,? Let's pretend it just came off the assembly line
