OEM car amp grey vs green 1999 e320 wagon

does anyone here have any idea what the difference between the grey adapter amp vs the green?>??

In my car i have the green....i mistakenly ordered a new amp but it was grey. that arrived. (my fault)
seemingly there is a leg/stop that dis-allows my connector to go in... so that is clear as to one of the differences, but there are the same # of pins and all that and all wiring diagrams i have found for this amp- none of them indicate this diagram is for green adapter amp only... so im inclined to think that they are the same?>? or no??

i connected it up and still no sound...but now wondering if bc the wrong amp
so might anyone know what the difference between the two amps are??

Why do you think your amp is bad? Does your car use fiber optical cables (I think it does, but I'm more familiar with the later W210s)? If it has fiber optics and there is a break in the fiber loop, your stereo won't work.
