Wagon SLS Inner LCA Bush

I've read and seen video on replacement of the outer bush on the rear LCA/axel (axle?) carrier where the spring is left in place uncompressed provided the shock (SLS strut) and other hardware remain connected. Can anyone comment on this safety issue when R&Ring the inner LCA bushes? Is it necessary to compress and remove the spring in order to do the inner bushes in situ on my sled, kindly before I take my life into my hands?
