Has anybody ever had the central vacuum pump go out? i mean melt down?

if so how much did it cost for repair?

i went to a dealership yesterday and they qouted me 450.00 for the part, but when they compared it to one i had it was different, the layout was different as well as the plug-in connectors. so i walked away.. just curious if anybody out their has seen one melt or has had this issue..

The Pump has been updated..there is Info on the WIS as to Install it..change a couple of connections and reprogram it with the Star diag..Not that hard

 

what is star diag? Also the pump in fast lane looks different compared to the one the dealer showed me.

 

The Star Diag. or SDS is a Mercedes Benz Workshop tool
Its leased to The Dealers...And is a Must to do any Kind of Version Code work
Like Setting the version code to your Central locking pump.

that thing looks pretty sweet.. i guess the only way to get one would be to work at a dealership.. hey nice smart!.. can't wait till they come to the US! ive already request a bunch of brochures..lol
