Need help w/central locking system
I was playing around w/fuse box in the engine bay of my 01 E430 4Matic to fix head rest problem that I have been having about quite a while. also, another problem that I have been dealing with was the central lock after 10 mph. so I opened up the hood and located fuse box near driver side and looked at the chart. It says fuse #16 for central locking system (I think 40A - orange fuse) #41 (blue 15A), (1,4,5,19 - these are located near rear seat)
So, I pulled the orange one (40A) and put it back in however, felt something wasn't quite right when I locked the car w/my remote keyless. Before, it used to blink 3 times and lock whole thing but it doesn't do that anymore!!! also, from inside of car, the central locking button on ****pit doesn't lock nor unlock anymore!!! How can I go back where I was before?

Had my brother's 2000 E320 which did same thing (not blink, dash door lock unlocked but not lock). Dealer said they took a few mins to fix, no charge since car had Starmark. They replaced driver side door/light switch - said it was an easy solve/fix.
Symptoms I had: door would lock and unlock on its own at speed. Interior light did not come on when door opened. Visual confirm when locked did not occur. Dash door lock did not work properly. For all these, they cited faulty door switch.
