W210 Recommendation as a first car

Hello,

I am a student who is planning to purchase his first car next year. I have started my research and landed on a w210 Benz. My uncle owns a 2001 E240 2.6L and it was the first car I have driven on my own and I LOVE IT. I just love this era's German cars and want to get a w210 as my first car. I currently study and live in Turkey, where the gas prices are nearly the highest (compared to the salaries) and my income is quite low. But I want to own a car, because 1. I am a mechanical engineer and I want to have a daily-driving-a-car experience since it's my job, 2. I am not a very social person and I just want a car to help me unwind and just spend my spare time better. Based on this, is there any w210 that you can recommend that will 1. Be efficient (it is still an E class, but as efficient as it gets), 2. Last long, 3. Be quick(this is the least important factor, but a fairly fast car would be fun) ?

We all love our MB's and they're quick and fun and sorta timeless in my eye. But, be aware, unless you can do the repairs yourself; repairs and parts are more expensive than average and they need premium gas. Parts are getting increasingly hard to find as the years rack up. If you move forward, be sure whatever you buy it's been well (documented) maintained. Maybe buy your uncle's? My old guy advice to a college student on a budget would be get an older, plain Toyota Corolla or similar. They're not good looking, not zippy, not a lot of things; but for getting around inexpensively it makes more financial sense than a MB.

W210 E240
I might buy an e240 in south England with electrical issues but still running, with 58,000 miles on the clock. I'm getting it real cheap, would you want it? I'd be up for transporting myself if you cover costs, I wont charge you for time. the arches are in great condition.
