Screw won’t seat on conductor plate replacement

hello all, I’m in need of some help. I am replacing the conductor plate on my 2002 E430, and upon reassembly I’m unable to get this screw to seat onto the clip for what I assume is the gear selector? I’ve tried every screw from the valve body, all of them bottom out and leave a gap and yet it was flush when I took it apart. All screws are accounted for by my knowledge, and I’m honestly stumped.

that is very strange story never the less if you did not make a bolt map i would go to MB EPC for the part number of the screw/bolt and then compare the parts at the dealer---do they match
plus you did probe the hole for any crap
