help!! tire rub..& brake..

hi..guys..

i have a 97 E420 with brabus spring #1pad all around..
18" brabus monoV one piece..

i just changed my tires last week..
kumho ecsta supra 712 245/40/18 all around..
everything o.k...very quiet..smooth..i love it
but..my front tires stared rub..probably best way is fender rolling..but i don't want it..

other thing...my brake..normally just fine...nothing feel from anything..
but when i drive over 120..braking hard...my car ..shaking...so badly..
i thought..tires blow..or something...
so..i asked my mechanic..he said i shoud change my rotors...
if that problem..i will go with brembo one.. :v

thank you...

Need more info:

- who wide are the front rims?
- rubbing on the inside or outside?
- Are those genuine Brabus V's?

From memory the Brbaus V for W210 should be 8.5" wide and with the right width tires they shouldn't rub unless the offset is wrong. Although some members use 245's (but mostly E55's that have factory rolled fenders), I would recommend 235 or 225s for the front tires for better response.

Also I udnerstand Brabus have deliberately made their wheels with an very high offset as standard so that you can use a range of spacers to adjust the wheel's fender alignement. Maybe you can just change the spacer.

Sounds like your rotors are warped.

thanks for reply

yes mine is genuine Brabus V and i guess it's 8.5wide.. it from w202..and rub from out side..i think rub from closed to front bumper side fender..

i went tire shop..guy said 235/40..not gonna help it..he recommend 225/40/18
actually my old front tires are 235/35/18..it was no problem
i think i shoud go 235/35/18 but kumho ecsta spura don't make 235/35...
i wanna go same tire...
what do you think 245/35/18..?

The design of the shoulder of the tire would also have an effect - some have a curvier or narrower shouder design than others, even if they are the same width. Not sure what the Kumho's are like.

Just noticed you have 245/40 - too big (overall diameter). 225/40 is a good size and guaranteed fix for your problem. You'll also notice a great improvement in steering response

Forgot to ask, how much is your car lowered?
