E430 engine cover dilemma
Apologies in advance if this question has already been answered; i spent reasonable amount of time looking through the threads but couldn't find an answer...
I got 2000 E430, that was in pretty much neglected shape with long list of things to do. One of the issues was that it needed valve cover gaskets. During the process, i discovered that one of the valve covers (one with oil filler opening) had a PCV piece that was broken and hastily JBWelded together, so naturally i ordered matching one from eBay. After i replaced the gaskets and put new valve cover on, i realized that my old E430 plastic engine cover trim didn't fit correctly anymore. After some quick comparison i found out that oil filler opening is raised by about 4-5 inches in E430 and the cover i got from Ebay was actually from CLK430, where the oil filler opening is almost flush with the cover... So if i put the E430 engine cover on, the oil filler opening is hidden, and every time i need to open/close it, i need to take the cover off, plus it looks kinda ugly with the recessed hole where the filler opening is.
So long story short, anyone knows if CLK430 plastic engine cover fits on the E430 mounting points one to one? I know, perhaps for some this is very trivial, but i have great plans for this W210 and want whatever i fix/replace to be perfect/OEM look and quality...
