Question Self-leveling

I have been considering getting the H&R cup kit for my 1996 e320, local dealer suggests Eibach springs with Bilstein shocks, I'd really like to go to with the Brabus kit. But anyway, my question is what is self-leveling? Is it standard any year? How do I find out if my car has it? Some performance shops seem to think I can lower it with that or just by changing my springs pads. I am looking for an 1 inch to 1 3/4 inch drop with the least amount of sacrafice to ride comfort, any ideas?

only wagons have them

on the w210 series, only the wagon has the self-leveling feature. basically it is to keep the rear from sagging when carrying heavy load in the cargo area (the cargo area has seats for two toddlers).
