Help find O ring/seal in this part(control valve?) Power steering rack of 97 e320
Hi everyone,
I heard a loud groaning noise when I was making a left turn. When I stopped and checked, the steering was very tight and there was power steering fluid leaking pretty badly. The reservoir was empty. So I topped it off with CHF 11S and the steering was still super tight. Then I looked under the car, by removing the tire, to identify the source of the leak.
Attached pics and videos here. Looks like the leak is in one of the control valves below the area where the steering column attaches to the Power steering rack. Not sure if I need to replace the O ring or the seal around it. How do I find the exact piece? I have a O'Reilly auto parts close to me. Would like to avoid going to the dealership if I can.
Also are there any steps I need to take after?
Really hoping its an easy fix and doesn't break the bank. I can maybe drive it to a smog test center close by, if required. Recently lost my job and cant really afford to tow it .
