How to steam clean/wash engine for 1997 E320
Can anyone give me advice on steam cleaning/power washing my engine on my '97 E320? I tried it once and I had to take it to the dealer because the check engine light came on and the engine missed. The dealer told me that I gotten water on the spark plugs. Thanks.

I don't think anyone would recommend using a power steamer on the engine.
There are other ways including using WD40.
You should ask this question in the auto detailing section.

cleaning engine
I've cleaned the engine with a foam engine degreaser then rinsed off using garden hose. Got water in the spark plug wells, had to take spark plug covers off pull coils and blow out the wells with compressed air. Not to bad of a fix, while I was there just changed the plugs, but blow out any water or dirt first before removing plugs. 97 E 420

For about $120, you could let the experts take care of it for you. And, this will detail your car in and out to boot!
