E320 to E55 Engine Swap questions

E320 to E55 Engine Swap questions

Wondering if anyone has any knowledge with this swap?
I'm needing a wiring harness as the engine supplier cut the harness for quick removal. Does anyone know if a harness from an E430 or CLK430 would work as long as its from a 2001-2002?
I've got an 2002 E55 ECM and going to send it and the TCM to Mercedes Swap Shop so I can run the Crossfire 6 speed.
I haven't gotten to the exhaust yet but will the E320 work or will need to go with an E430?
I appreciate any tips anyone can provide.

CLK430 Harness will not work. E430 2001-2003 w210/s210 Harness will work 100% its what i used on my swap. You will have to extend the wiring to air flow meter if using e55 set up, you can use the E430 air box, makes same power, but you need to cut a hole in bottom of box or side of box and remove metal in that area to run a fresh air hose, look at the ML55 airbox to understand what you need to do. TCM does not need to be sent out you will not use it if you are doing the 6 speed swap. Not sure if Josh has figured out all the coding as Mine was not 100% from Mercedes Swap Shop.. also try PresserTech in Georgia he has figured out the coding 100%. Any questions let me know. I have done a bunch of these swaps.

Thanks for the info!
As my luck would have it, there aren't any E430's in the local yards right now. I'm not to worried about it right now as I need to focus on cleaning up the interior. What did you run for exhaust? Did you go custom or is it possible to run the e320?

I used E320 exhaust in my wagon. it made more Torque than the e55 exhaust but was a bit less horsepower, head temps seem to be about same, not sure long term. It really quiet until you get up in RPM 3000 or above. Not sure I will ever do a v8 exhaust on that one just too much fun as is. E320 exhaust bolts right up to v8 manifolds. I would however get rid of rear cats and resonator, which is what i did. Wagon rear muffler is huge, almost double size of sedan.
