GGREETINGS! Hello guys, I am about to change the accumulators, fluid and filter on my 2001 wagon. It just hit 88,000 miles, the fluid is extremely dirty and I would like to remove all traces of it before installing the new accumulators and fluid. I think I’ve read most of the posts about doing this but still have a question in that where do I start, keeping in mind that I would like to remove all the old dirty fluid.
Can I suction the dirty fluid out of the reservoir, remove the accumulators and then add clean fluid, start the car and run it until clear fluid comes out of the lines? The wheels should be off the ground for this, correct?
If there is another or better method to flush, I would really appreciate hearing about it; please bear in mind this car is new to me and I know nothing about it or this SLS system. I have 3 quarts of the FEBI 21648 fluid - do you think that’s enough?
I’m also concerned about doing something that may cause it to get air bound. I really appreciate the input guys; Thanks very much. ct
