It sets the alarm off when the car is lifted, thereby sending a notification to TeleAid,and then to your cell phone that the car is being possibly stolen.

I could be wrong but I do believe that you have to subscribe to the service for this to work. Otherwise, you're car alarm will go off if lifted and that is all.

Did you have your doors locked when you changed the tires? If not it wont matter. And you have to have Teleaid service to get the call and have them track the car via GPS.

I locked my car to test whether or not the alarm would be activated if someone would try to steal my rims. i changed all four tiers and nothing happened. I am not sure what height needs to be reached for the alarm to be intiated.
As far as teleaid is concerned all cars below 2002 who had teleaid, they are disfunctional before that year. The technology, atleast in the US in w210 is out dated. If you want teleaid, you need to rewire your whole car

The switch is to defeat the Anti-tow feature in the factory alarm. Jacking one corner at a time won't set it off. When my 55 was just put on a flat bed for transport, it definitely set off the alarm with the doors locked until I hit the switch.

I had a nightmare when i locked my key in the trunk. It took me 5 days before i got back into my car. They told me that cars 2002 and under, teleaid doesnt work on them any more.
I called about 25 different locksmiths and no one could get into my trunk. Dealership could only make me a new key, and thats how i got back into my car.
