Badging on E430 Sport

Badging on E430 Sport
I saw an E430 Sport today with AMG Wheels (Monoblock II) and all the standard AMG body trim that comes on that car - this car's owner had made no modifications except for the addition of the ////AMG badge on the right side of the trunk. Your opinion - legitimate move or not?

I say different strokes for different folks. If carrying around AMG badging floats the guys boat, more the power to him....it's his car.

A small AMG badge for the middle of the front skirt lip comes standard with the body kit, does that mean one has to leave it off if the car is not an AMG car?

To each their own and this has been discussed many times before but I still can't figure out how wearing just an AMG badge can be labelled as posing and why some dudes get so upset, especially when:
1) The car has not got "E50" or "E55" badging on it, meaning it was never pretending to be an AMG tuned car;
2) The car has a genuine AMG body kit (complete with an AMG on the front skirt). The ///AMG badging out back simply conveys the brand of the body styling (just like the one in the front) and the car's overall "theme" - in a way, paying respect to the tuner that the owner admires;
3) To the regular joe, in the real world, AMG means nothing - how many people besides those hanging around these forums (and that's considered a minority in the big picture) can tell the difference? There's really nothing to gain by "posing"; and
4) The tuner themselves sell the badges to the general public, allowing consumers to do whatever they want with them, makes money in the process and don't complain themselves...what is it really to those who gets really upset? As its always been said, its not even their car!
However, havng a "Turbo", "kompressor, "4x4" badging when the car has none of these mods - that's "posing". Having badges of two brands, like "Brabus" and "///AMG" (which I've actually seen on an AMG kitted C200) or AC Schnitzer badges on a Benz is just plain stupidity, ignorance and an insult to the tuners
but still no point getting one's knickers in a knot over.
As for Benz, he knows his Benz's, he probably knows more about these cars than many others on these forums and knows very well that his badging has no relationship with any part of his car as he doesn't even have a kit. He did it for a different purpose....to pi$$ off those who get emotional about it and he OWNED them all cuz he got his satisfaction and "fame" on the E55 forum. Look at how long that thread lasted....a year after he sold his car! Good job Benz!
Although I have nothing against replicas and I could understand from an economic point of view, I find it stange that people with replica body kits or replica wheels (with the tuner's hub caps) typically don't get such a big reaction.....

I totally agree with Whitey.....if the dude has an AMG body kit (which the Sport does) and AMG wheels, hey....why not stick on an AMG badge?
Me.....I removed ALL the badging from my E430 sport.....
As they say...."Different Strokes 4 Different Folks"
