instrutment cluster bulb

I was at my dealer to get a bulb for one of my instrutment light that went out. They charge one tiny bulb for 8 bucks, which is awfully a lot for such a small bulb. I check with Pep Boys and other auto store they don't carry it. Does anyone know where I can get, I look at Osram website but they don't sell it to individuals but in bulk orders.

I ran into the same problem recently. One of the posts to my call for help suggested I go to Pep Boys and get the smallest European bulb they had. I needed a 2 watt bulb and the smallest they had for the same type bulb was a 3 watt. I went ahead and used them and they seem to work fine. I keep the intensity level in the mid-range so it doesn't seem to matter too much. I wouldn't want to run them up to the high end, especially for any length of time.

Even though I use them I can't recommend using electrical parts that do not meet the required wattage rating so try at your own risk.

You are better off buying a used cluster off of ebay and having lots of spares that way. The partshunter had the clusters for $15. You do take the chance of getting one with parts missing but you can ask the seller first what is missing.
