maintenance costs

I just had the 50K service (called service B) performed on my 01 E320. This is the first I've had to cover myself since the expiration of the warranty. I went to a recommended local "autohaus" instead of the dealer. I figured the dealer would be the highest price around. So, an engine oil flush/change/new pollen filter/air filter/and diagnostic test (which checked clear) is all it needed. It set me back $447.00. Seems really high to me. Anybody want to share what they've paid?

Plugs are changed at B service (at least they are here in Ireland!). Adds a good amount extra (e.g., here it's 12 plugs on the V6 * €12 each). They are good for 60,000 miles.

They charge that high in Kansas?!! My dealer here in New York City (Silverstar Motors) charges $188.35 for Service A and $315.95 for Service B.

Monopoly is the name of the game. KC used to have 1 dealer. Now on the mo side, another one opened with extreme pricing too.

I just called up your dealership and the prices that you have given are old. The new prices are as follows, 560 B and 300 and some change for A. He said that these prices started Nov 2004.
