Engine Cleaner
Does anyone have a recommendation what to clean the engine with on the outside? I am think of using WD-40 to cleanup the engine surface. Any thoughts?

Why not? And it should bring the shiney black back to the plastic engine cover......P.S. I've not tried but I think that's what the used car dealers use to clean up their cars.

P21S Total Auto Wash. It is a citrus degreaser. The best! Aluminum looks fantastic after cleaning with P21S! I mix the straight P21S 50% with water and spray it on with a spray bottle. Agitate with a soft brush if necessary. WD-40 colletcts dirt. It can be useful to soften hard grease/dirt if you let it soak, then follow with P21S. One caution - be careful. Try to keep large amounts of water off the wiring and connectors. With all the modern electronics in these cars, a shorted connector can create havoc.

I would use Simple Green. They work wonders, they do a heck of a good job with the grease removal. The best of all, they are enviromentially friendly and biodegradable.
