PSE pump repair, not the motor
Hello, first post.
My 2000 E430 4matic has started to exhibit PSE pump issues of the 'randomly unlocking, rolling down the windows and opening the trunk' variety.
I see lots of DIY threads on replacing the pump motor. Mine appears to work...in fact works when I don't want it to.
1a) Are there any common failures electrically with the PSE that cause this behavior? I am thinking cracked solder joints at the pcb where the connectors join?
1b) Are there any threads detailing repairs for this specific type of fault? ( and not 'locks don't work type faults )

My suggestion would be to 1) check roof, door gutter, drain hoses and trunk gasket for clogged outlets. 2) water is entering the low compartment under the rear seat and moisture is shorting out the electronics, 3) must inspect, clean, dry every fuse and relay under the seat and PSE pump. Check insulation for dampness and clues where the water is entering (dried water marks, etc). Each time the car is energized and especially using a PSE compliant device the short circuit may continue to cause problems more.

visual inspection and finger touch is NOT sufficient. mechanical cleaning followed by contact cleaner is important. Don't get lazy here.

Thanks will check the drains. Yes it didn't seem wet under the seat, although the corroded connectors ( as I mentioned above ) do tell a story.
It is quite the strange feeling to go to your car and have the doors unlocked, the windows down, the sunroof open and the trunk popped open. Especially if you live in a city
