Signal light malfunction

HI,

I have a 97 E420 and recently my car was involved in a minor car accident which broke my driver's side taillight. Ever since that I get a "Lamp Defective" warning and my signal light doesn't work anymore. Even after I put a new taillight back in. When I try to signal left or right, nothing happens and there is no clicking sound at all. However if I press the flashers, both signal light will flash with no problem.

Does anyone know what might be wrong?

Thanks

Ed

check all of the signal lights front & back. I am sure one of them is out.
