Recommended Struts for 2001 E430?
Hello,
Basic question here, but I want to replace the tired struts on my old e430, non-4matic base. My local guy will do it, but they want me to source the parts. I don't want to change the ride height or ride characteristics. I want to keep it stock. Any recommendations on specific parts? Do I need any other components than what comes with the struts? Seems like Sachs or Bilstein are most recommended.

I think you just want shocks (not struts). You may be able to get an idea by trying https://mbparts.mbusa.com/class/e-class. Or, going to your MB dealer with your VIN in hand to ensure proper unit is identified for your model/year.

I'm with cleaver. But I had B6 on my first 2000 E320. I still have B6 for my current 2000 E320, just don't have the time to installed them yet.If you're looking for stock ride, then B4. If you want bit stiffer for some spirited driving, then B6. Probably cheaper than the stealership price too.
Whenever I can, I tried to install Bilstein shocks. My other ride is 86' Chevy Monte Carlo SS, but even on that, I have set of Bilstein on it.
