Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah! It still hurts but "I" did it to myself.
Got bored this morning and stopped by a dealer. Big mistake!
Traded my baby (97 e420) this morning for a 99 S500 (Black/Gray)
God Help me.

Ok here is the nitty gritty.
I purchased 97 e420 Green color for 13.5K + TTL in Decemebr 2003 @ 102K Miles. All options including luxury pack (Xenons, pneumatic seats etc). 110 K miles at trade. Maticulous condition.
Traded for 1999 S420 (previous owner rebadged as S500 and put S500 wheels on it) with 139K miles. fair to good condition. BUT the right color (Black/Gray interior). trade Diff = $4200 that included doc and taxes. Car is not even nearly as a good condition as my W210, yet its a different beast.
Got two remote keys this time. The shop did complete tune up and detailed it for me.
Basically They were asking 17,900 for it. I negotiated 4200 difference.

Ouch!....Why a S430? Don't get me wrong, but the 99' is the old body, I don't like it. My mom has one and I don't like the car it looks too bulky and ugly C pillar. The current S class bodystyle I absolutely love. Sorry to hear that you traded your E320 for the S430

Hi,
i did not like the bodystyle much either, and fortunately, the power steering pump started leaking the first day so I brought the car back to dealer.
I have my wonderful, beautiful E420 back! Cannot believe I tried to trade it in.
