Considering...
Anyway, I'm in the market for a W210 and I can't make up my mind as to what model. I've driven the E420 and absolutely love it. I've come across what I think is a good deal.
It's a 97 E 420 with 37,000 miles on it, Brabus wheels, lowered, tv, playstaion, stereo, etc. I haven't actually spoke to the guy selling it as he wasn't available but someone told me it was in an accident. From what I saw the car looks new. He's asking $15000 for it. Whichever model I go with I plan on modding it.
My dilema is, should I consider this car or go with the AMG model? Will putting a blower or turbo on the 420 give me similar performance as to the AMG? I know there are blowers available but I haven't seen turbos out there for these cars?
any info will be grateful.
Thanks,
Nick
Rule #2: The car is a gas guzzing machine E420 is a V8 engine.
Rule #3: The car is still a 7 years old car. Most warrantee's have expired.
And yes, the accident thing bugs the hell out of me but the car looks clean but I haven't driven it yet.
$15,000 for a 97 seems very high even with those mods and low miles.
If I was in your shoes, I would pay the extra money and get a W210 E55.
I think you can get them in the high 20's - mid 30's these days.
Your better off not modding the engine with after market parts to get performance although these engines are built like a tank.
