Rear-view mirror

Hello folks, a new member from California

I am here to ask a question on 1998 E320 interior rear-view mirror. My neighbour's E320 has a broken rear-view mirror. I am trying to help them out. We have glued the plastic part that was broken and want to see if we can put it back together. But we are not sure if we are missing anything (i.e. not sure of any parts that fell off that we did not find). There are two flat metal springs with an indentation in the middle and a small turned up section at each end. Anyhow, do any of you know how this thing goes back together? Also do any of you know how much this rear-view mirror costs? Can we get one from an on line store or only the dealers sell them? My on line searches for this came up blank for this part.

As for the 210 mirrors...MB used several different nes in the 210s...and the one you described are pretty much the only ones who are easy to brake when taking out of the car...WHEN they break, the springs don't fit anywhere anymore as that is one of the things that brake off...the metal springs fit in plastic clips which break off...by using some small screws you can repair the mirror but it won't look that good...

As for replacement mirrors...I do have some in stock - depending on color and options the mirror has, I might have something.
