Angry Stuck Trunk

This wekend I went out and set the trunk to valet mode. The next day I went out to get me laptop from te trunk and the damned thing won' open. Tried to open manually, from insde the car and with the remote...NOTHING. I am sure I set lock back to the original position. Any suggestions before I go to the dealer? Is their a fuse or something that I can check? Thanks

A search of the forums yielded this post as the closest to my problem.

In my case I locked the trunk to valet mode. Now I can't unlock it. My suspicion is that the mechanical key I have is not the correct key. Just bought the car....

Anyone have any other ideas?

Don't force it. No point in doing more damage. Try pressing inward while using the key. If you have a helper, you can also try the inside release with someone pressing. Car's battery is good?

The battery is fine. Tried spraying the lock. Had to stop by the place I bought the car and the mechanic could only offer drilling the lock..... Let's see what the dealer has to say.

Did you ever find out how to get it open
My 2003 CL600 trunk wont open!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

So i took the CL to work today and just got home from work.

I go to pop the trunk and nada!

I can hear a solenoid click but nothing.

So i go to my $300 new key fob i purchased from the dealer and try to take out the safety key which i think is for this purpose. The little plastic slider that releases that key breaks off like it was madeof............uhh...........cheap plastic!

I finally find a way to get the key out and insert it into the lock in the trunk. This just allows you to operate yet another electrical switch and nadda!!!!!!!!!

This seems idiotic. It should operate a mechanical mechanism for this very issue with a faulty electrical component.

To top it all off i realize my cell phone, wallet, license, etc. is locked in the darn trunk &^&%$%^$&(@&*&&$@%*()(*^&$

You just gotta love <nobr style="color: darkgreen; font-weight: normal; font-size: 100%;" id="itxt_nobr_8_0">Mercedes</nobr> Quality ;-)

Any ideas??

So before i post here i try to look at the fuses. There are 4 locations where there are seperate fuse blocks. All have zero info or fuse mapping. I go to the manual and it has ziltch!!,,,,,,,Nada!!!!
Oh.... but the manual tells me there is a "Fuse Chart" in with the tool kit.

Guess where??? ??
Any Solution??

My suspicion is that the key I have from the seller has the incorrect mechanical key, the little one you mentioned.

I have to get a new one from the dealer so I will compare. However the dealer will not issue me a key without the title, which the seller has only now given me after weeks of calling them.

I got it open with the mini key..........whew!!!!!!!!

The <nobr style="color: darkgreen; font-weight: normal; font-size: 100%;" id="itxt_nobr_17_0">auto</nobr> close works fine but either of my two electronic keys will not open. I hear the mechanism activating but the latch will not release and lift .

Does anyone no where the fuse is or a relay for this??

Previous owner stole the tool kit that has the fuse chart.

Does anyone have a link to a "Fuse Chart" for 03 CL600?

Mine was stuck for days but it was only due to the trunk's rubber mouldings. I just assisted in openning it. After two or three more trunk opennings, I never had the same problem again.

Still no joy. The dealer service agents, very friendly (how friendly? Think Huns outside of Rome friendly) could only shrug and suggest drilling out the existing lock and replacing it with a $230 replacement....

My suspicion was correct. The new mechanical key is different from the one that came with the vehicle. The replacement key worked the trunk and now I have a functioning trunk.
