TCU Insight
Hello all,
I was hoping someone here can offer me some insight or suggestions. My car (1997 E320) has been vibrating at @ 1500 rpms, problems goes away when you push the pedal or let off completely...long story short one of the guys from Mercedesshop had helped me diagnose the problem. He said the lock-up clutches are causing the problem, basically because the TCU is giving the tranny bad information. Do any of you have similar experiences? From what I understand I will need to have the TCU updated to correct the problem. Do I need a new one or could a software update be the cure? I'm a little worried, only because I bought the car a little over a month ago.
I don't have much faith in the local MB dealership so I have started with an Indie to see what they can find out. He said it will be a minimum of $130 to diagnose the problem.....Please help, car is scheduled to go in on Monday morning...
Thanks guys,
