Trunk Closer Malfunction
Does anyone elses Trunk Closer periodically does not lock (i.e. acts like it closes and lock but actually ends up slightly ajar)? Went to the dealer but problem still exists. Anyone have any tips/tricks?

I had this problem, they replaced some motor and the locking mechanism, works fine since then. Have your dealer check this issue out, and verify that the locking mechanism works when you use the Trunk closer feature. On mine the motor became weak (makes no sense) and it want completley forcing the trunk down into the locking position. After changing the two parts, it works flawlessly.

The only problem I have had is when the weather is below freezing and I've just had a carwash the trunk opener mechanism stops working. I was advised to open the trunk and dry out the hinges before leaving the warmth of the carwash facility. Otherwise don't plan on opening the trunk until you get the car into a nice warm garage to allow full evaporation. Have similar problems with Parktronic which also does not like to leave the carwash in freezing weather.

...and why arent the front parktronic sensors disabled by the door lock software at speeds over 9 MPH? Who needs to hear the sensors screaming because they see road salt/snow on them at 60 MPH? Then MB could eliminate the parktronic on/off switch on the console & make it a software on/off in the set up program for emergency failures. Think of the money they could save!
