2004 E320 Leftover

I'm looking for a second basic car and saw the dealer had a new 2004 E320 still in stock. Doesn't seem to have many extra options or anything special.
stickers at 52K...

Was wanting to get some input on how much I should offer based on the car already being a year old?

I looked on KBB to get an idea...invoice looked to be about $45k...and saw that trade-in (I used the random number of 1000 miles) was only $39k..

Since you can get a 2005 e320 for about $5k below invoice, I would suspect that you could get a 2004 for at least $6k back of invoice. However, there is marketing money to the dealer to move the 05's, and I am not sure if they apply to any 04's that may be left.

I would offer them $42k, 10k under MSRP. Your market may be different though, with less competition and you may need to give or take about 2k for regional differences. I know SoCal is hyper competitive, but many areas are not.

With the E350 now here, there's more to depreciation than just being a year older. They should really want to move that thing. I agree with above. 10k under sticker is a good starting point.
