It looks like it may be a tough year for MB already.

It looks like it may be a tough year for MB already.

I was just browsing the MBUSA site and see they have the 2006 E350 listed as a special lease deal already, $ 599/month. That is the same deal they had on the 2005 E320 for the last several months. The car has barely hit the show rooms. MB must be anticipating poor sales numbers. I didn't think we would see a sale for at least a few months yet.

Any thoughts?

No thoughts on what's a good lease deal on an E320 or E350, but I've noticed that neither the MBUSA web site nor MB dealer web sites have the "search dealer inventory" feature that is common with other manufacturers and dealers. There could be an innocent explanation for the omission - maybe MBUSA's inventory system isn't up to the task, and the dealer sites tend to be clones using the MBUSA template - but I have to wonder if something else is at play. If you had an unusual number of very expensive cars sitting around dealerships unsold, would you want to publicize the fact? It would sure give buyers some extra leverage.

So at this rate do you think I can trade the 03 even up for a new 350? :p

That doesnt sound like such a great deal. Probably based on a stripped E, with 3K down + + etc. I think you can get one for a lot less given 8-10K off MSRP in CA at least.

With MSRP at 50,000, 10K off (3-4K under invoice), 12K miles/year,55% residual, 36 mos, your payment should be $529 including tax with zero down, just tax title lic. etc. with the probable proposed 3K cap reduction, $439 a month...

Backing into a payment, it would be comparable to about 4-5K off with 2-3K cap reduction.

edit: DAMN! I didnt realize MB jacked the prices up $3K. Well, its not far off still.. (using my lease calculator)

I know you can get 05's for that kind of money off but a model just out with more HP? I wouldn't have expected to see that kind of money off until end of summer at best. Was it possible to get that kind of money off on the 04's and 05's when they first came out? It seemed like the money did not start coming off to the tune of $10,000 until the 06 was announced.
