Ashtray illuminator not working
Any expertise knows how to disassemble the front ashtray compartment in order to replace new light bulbs for night illuminating.
P.S. Not just the ashtray box.

Are you sure it is not the fuse?
Also, if it is under warranty, I suggest allowing the servic department of your MBZ dealer deal with it. I would never get into taking that beautiful dash apart.

Actually, my dad has a 2002 E320 and he has the same issue. LOL I completely forgot. He took it in and they "fixed" it. It would also blink on and off as you jiggled the lighter itself.
Good luck. I'd still get it to the dealer to document any shorts, loose wiring, etc. It could lead to other issues and its best to let them handle it rather than have an excuse to blame you for it later.

Ashtray disassembly instructions follow:
- open the ashtray
- pry the shifter wood panel up with your fingers at the ashtray side...the panel is held in by clips at the frontside - release these clips by pulling the panel up...the rear of the woodpanel comes out by moving the panel forwards
- unclip the 2 plastic clips at the front of the ashtray that hold the ashtray in
- take out the ashtray after the clips have been released
- take off the connector at the back of the ashtray
