Logic 7 comparison
Can anyone tell me their thoughts on the Logic 7 system in the e500 as compared to the 745. I have a 7 with Logic 7 - it has 2 12" subs under the seats that provide an incredible amount of bass and depth. I think the 745 Logic 7 system is one of the best factory systems ever made.
How does the Logic 7 in the e500 sound compared to the 7?
Any thoughts would be appreciated.

Logic 7 in the E500 is pretty decent, but doesn't have the bass you have in the 745. I'm satisfied with it. Best to give it a listen at a dealer.

At moderate volume, the system sounds great, wonderful presence. This is not the system if you want everyone else in traffic to know what you're listening to. This system is designed to be listened to inside the car. I know some people have swapped out the sub, said it made a difference. Try doing a search.

As others have said, the Logic 7 system in the E is inferior to that in the 745. I had a 745 for a year and agree with you that it's one of the best factory systems there is.
As far as I'm concerned, the biggest deficiency of the E's system compared to the Bimmer's is that the E lacks an equalization control and only has the bass and treble controls. I found that the 745 was overly boosted in the mid-bass, but I could tune that out with the equalizer. The E has a similar problem, but the bass control is to crude a tool to fix it. The treble in the E is a little spitty, also like the 745, and that can't be fixed with the tone controls either.

I think it sounds great and to me one of the key things in a car is the stereo. I drove in the E class car with the standard stero, IMO it just doesn't do it for me.
The Logic 7 I find I have the treble all the way down to 1/4 (it is way too bright with those door tweeters poiting right at your ears), the fader 3/4's towards the back and the bass up to 3/4 and it sounds great.
Logic7 is supposed to be used at lower volumes and the stereo mode cranked although I just switch between them depedning on what I feel like.
If you love dance music or bass heavy hip hop, you may need another sub although rock, classical, all other music sounds great..
