Early Pricing
E320 $50,095
E500 $55,495
(No pricing on options, yet.)
The E500 is looking more and more attractive.

Base for base cost fine, I can appreciate the difference if the above things aren't important to you. But if you add one or two options to an E320, that $5400 difference will dwindle real quick.
Guess some people would still prefer a V6....even if the cost is close to a V8.

This new car is really for her everyday pleasure and B-Day present although for my pleasure too.
With the cost of the two being approx $5k different and the features offered on the E500 that are not on the E320 it would appear to me to be a great value. Of course paying at the pump is a different story.
Looking at the pricelist on official MB site, E 500 in Germany is about the same price as in the USA, it's E 320 which is significantly cheaper in Germany. So that's where the difference lies.
However, resale value favors the E320 in terms of percentage in depreciation. A 1999 E320 and E430 are both listed at $35,600 according to Kelly Blue Book.
