DVD/TV in Motion Help
I have a 2005 E500 purchased from the factory owned dealer in Costa Rica. I believe it a European Spec car as it comes with European options and features (like the long license plate spaces).
The car came with the DVD and TV option from the factory. The TV and DVD work great but the picture fades out after about 5mph. I have seen previous posts for 2003 E models, but no clear answers on getting TV or DVD to work while in motion on a 2005 model year car.
Can anyone help with specific instruction on how to enable DVD in Motion on a 2005 model year car?
My Command unit looks like the one pictured.

As far as I know only the factory owned Dealor has the Star Diagnostics tool and they refuse to do it........I might be able to talk a tech into it if i knew the exact procedure to do it. Does anyone know this?
Alternatively, is there a way to do this without the Star Diagnostic tools?
Any special codes or menus which can be accessed throught the Command unit?

Not sure over there but here in US we lucky to have MBenzNL Steve and Schorile and they travel around here and take care of this problem and other Star Diagnostics related problem.
As far as I know there is no way that you can use soft key or any secret codes disable that function.

There are a few members that go on the warpath at the mention of 'DVD in motion'

Back to the DVD in motion enabling: if the comand has the MP3 capable software - your dealer most probably is not able to enable DVD in motion...a slightly modified stardiagnose is required then...

Okay.....Dealer has decided to use the Star Diagnostics try to get DVD to work while in motion (for my passengers of course) as long as i sign a legal release.
Has anyone done this with a 2005 E class with the European head unit (already equipped with both DVD and TV). If so, what is the exact procedure?

I wonder are you in US? Your dealer should know how to do that. All they need to do is disable one of the function using Star Diagnostics system...

FWIW, I was able to DISable the DVD in motion inadvertently while messing around in some secret menus I had no business being in.. unfortunately, there is no way that I've found to enable it back without Steve.. good thing he will be here this month Right Steve?? When are you coming?
