If you cut just one coil off the spring your cars ride will be horrible. You definitely need to find an alternative way to further lower your car. I can’t see any reputable shop installing springs with a coil cut.

when i was in high school, we used to do cheap lowering jobs by cutting springs on our cars. don't do this! you'll hear people say it's ok because one coil is a "dead" coil anyway. the result will be a horrible ride and alignment issues like you wouldn't believe. just get different springs that give you the height you are looking for.

You should NOT cut a coil spring

Get a set of adjustable coilovers instead. That way after you have sufficiently tired of a ride that is too low and stiff, you can raise the car and improve the ride without risking your safety.

Man those were the good ole days... We used to take a torch and heat the springs on our Iroc-z's and Mustangs then one of us would sit on the fender to get the car to drop.

I had a buddy that cut the crap out of his springs on his GT.. He got stuck on a man hole cover! Of course all this took place 15 years ago back when Camaros and Mustangs were the all the rage

Wink JC Whitney!! JC Whitney!! JC Whitney!! JC Whitney!! JC Whitney!! JC Whitney!!

They'll sell you these little compression blocks that will compress together two adjoining links, it has the effect of cutting the spring.

Then when you tire of it (or you have to carry fat friends and don't want to chew up your tires on the fenderwells!) you can return the spring to normal.
