2005 E55 AMG BODY KIT FOR E500 & E320 FINALLY SPOTTED, BUT GUESS WHAT ???
I have found some pics on other sites of E500's and E320's with the 2005 AMG bodykit it seems as though they have copied the front and rear bumper aprons exactly. HOWEVER IT SEEMS TO ME THAT MERCEDES-BENZ IS STLL COMING UP SHORT ON THE SIDE LOWER AMG BODYWORK. THE E55 AMG LOWER LEFT AND RIGHT SIDE BODY WORK ( the body work that runs from the front wheel to the back wheel ) IS VERY DISTINCT AND IT SEEMS LIKE MERCDES IS GIVING A LACKLUSTER EFFORT WHEN IT COMES TO THIS PART OF THE E500 AMG PACKAGE. Can anyone confirm or deny this? Remember "STRENGTH IN NUMBERS ".

Did you not read the fine print on mbusa.com? The AMG package from factory only includes the front and rear bumper covers, not the side skirts. Moreover, the rear bumper cover is different from the E55 one.
If you want to go the whole nine yards and get both the body kit and the exhaust of the E55, it would cost you (about 6-7 grand altogether, plus installation)

... besides which, why would MBUSA want to let people exactly duplicate the look of the E55 AMG on the cheap, relatively speaking? People can very seldom use the full power of the E55 (how often can you use the full power of an E500, forevinsakes?) and so the real justification of an E55 AMG is its appearance, not its power or other mechanical mods. You can't go 0-100-0 in 15 seconds very often but you can impress the rubes on the street with your E55 AMG finery every day.

Yea... If I were an e55 owner I'd be pissed-off to a bunch of e55 wanna-be's (converted 320's & 500's) running around that looked exactly like mine... With the cost of a well equipted e500 and with the amg package included, I can't figure why anyone would just rather buy the real thing?????

If I had wanted the FULL AMG body styling when ordering my vehicle it would have cost an extra £2,200. That is front, back and side skirts.
Unfortunately neither the 270, 320CDI car or estate, can have the full AMG exhaust system.
All other E-class excluding the 200Kompressor and 220CDI can have the full AMG Kit, plus the AMG exhaust for £2,650. Thus the exhaust system is £450 on top of the kit.
