Still confused on 2004 E500 phone issues- Anyone able to help?
Despite a forum search and consult with 2 dealers I am still confused as to what I can/cannot do in my May '04 build E500 factory equipped with a V60 Verizon (CDMA) phone & voice control system.
I'd like to use a new v710 phone, but still do not know if such is possible. Soeme say its just a matter of swapping the cradle and phone itself, while others say the electronic "brains" are different for 2005 and as a such a swap is not possible. Any ideas/input??

Look inside your armrest storage compartment. If you see two coils, you have the "old" wiring and will be unable to upgrade your phone, except through Steve (MBENZNL); otherwise you have the new wiring, and should be able to upgrade by swapping out your cradle and purchasing a new MB Phone.
(At least this is what I was told by my dealer, June 04 build e500)
