COMAND on the new E-class

The computer screen in the center console appears too small for NAVI or map. I hope that is not the screen for NAVI.

Does anyone have a picture of a COMAND in the new E-class?

Thanks, akmal31.

Interesting, the screen appears to display a view of the freeway ?at the interchange.

I wonder if the screen is bigger than the current E-class COMAND and if the new NAVI software is backward compatible with the ole E-class COMAND.

The new software is DVD based, not backwards compatible obviously.

The screen from the full pictures I have seen appears to be wider than the current screen and therefore a little less high in vertical size.

Thank you all for providing the information.

Finally a DVD -based NAVI.

But I just cannot get used to the trapezoid shape of the new COMAND system. Actually, the set of buttons below the COMAND is also trapezoid.

haha thanxs Silver_Lana

And I 100% agree with you man, this interior makes me drool, it is soo beautiful, and when the nav is centered, it looks alot better, in the S-class the nav is not centered in the console so its a little confusing but when it is centered i think it looks better

Don't worry about the size of the screen on the DVD Nav display. It
appears to be about 2 inches wider and about 1'2 inch higher than the
current Command.

No worries, just get the optional steering column mounted 17" plasma screen. Are you guys on dope? I mean other than basic overviews it's not like you ought to be spending time watching DVD's on your Nav screen. Course if you are vision challenged maybe one of those big magnifying stickers you use on the rearview mirrors of your RV can be employed.

You are correct that the first cars come with CD Sat Nav and later DVD.

Does anyone know "FOR SURE" about the COMAND unit for the New W211's, and if they'll be a factory or a dealer option. My salesperson just informed me that my E500 should be here in about 1 - 1 1/2 months. I am getting the E1 and E2 package, and also wanted the Navigation unit but the salesperson himself is not sure about the details and options of the car.
