using other manufacturers sat antenna...
Folks,
Has anyone looked into, for example, mounting an antenna from a bmw or infiniti sirius antenna on the merc instead of hte puck? all the antennas are fed with the same cable aren't they?

Well, they can actually install the sirius antenna on your parcel shelf instead of on the trunk. You just need to find a dealer that is willing to do it for you, or if you're in the Bay Area, find Dean (scorchie), he'll hook you up. Other people had an aftermarket antenna installed which is placed in front or behind the teleaid antenna. Do a search on sirius install on the forum.

i do know from prior searches that Terk makes one. I was thinking the nice bmw / infiniti style might be a perfect solution to the current fiasco...

The new MB antenna is very small, about 1 1/2 inches long and 1 inch wide and it is color coded to the car. Most dealers still require it on the trunk though, but some will place it on the parcel shelf.
