My PC may have spyware.
When I open the browser and click the favorates to MBworld, instead of going to forums.mbworld.org it took me to Http://filter.belkin/.... which is some kind of advertising web site. I scaned my pc with Symantec antivirus 10 and MS Spyware beta1 twice and got nothing. Anybody knows or have the similar problem?

All this started to happen after I installed SUN's Java runtime from Sun's web site. I think it may have something to do with this...

Did you recently update your router site?
If that's the case, it may just be that it is sending you to an update site for newer hardware.
Also what OS are you running? XP or 2000?

Malware may hijack your home page setting or a search, but I've never heard of malware hijacking other pages. Not to say that it doesn't. I agree with Silver Lana - it seems that your Belkin router wants to call home to pick up some kind of software upgrade, and it's just coincidence that you were trying to get MBWorld at the same time.
FWIW,the 8/9 (current?) issue of PC Magazine has a big feature on anti-spyware products. They like MS Spyware Beta (free) but the like Spyware Doctor 3.2 ($30) a bit better. Sounds like your PC is clean, though.

There are 2 free very good applications to remove spyware. I use it for 4 years now.
SPYBOT
and
AD-AWARE
Down load it and ran it.
It is very effective to have both of these and ran them one after another.

I've used both Ad Aware and Spybot Search & Destroy. I also have Norton Anit-Virus, Norton Internet Security and use the Google Pop Up Stopper with their toolbar. All of these are good freebies. However, a while back I got a bad virus/spyware that none of these stopped. I went to the payware, Xotspy, available at: http://www.paretologic.com/xoftspy/?hop=rdmonroe, which is a Pareto Logic product. It not only finds the "BAD STUFF" but can then get rid of it for you. I was dissapointed that Norton could tell my I had a virus but couldn't get rid of something it missed in the first place. Good luck. They have weekly updates, and I've had no problems in over a year.
