thoughts on installing folding sideview mirrors

I may have the chance to install the folding sideview mirrors, and was hoping anyone who has them can share their experience with them, trouble free?

I had them in my last car, and I have them on my Volvo, and got used to them.. the tight space in the garage also makes it a plus.. I wonder if it's worth the 750 or so?

thanks for any input.

I personally find them useless but then again my garage is so damn large you could add about 4 more 750li's in there and there would still be plenty of space. But for those who have tight garages it might be worth it.

I love it. I wish dad's car had it. Trust me, you'll have so much fun with the mirrors.

Invaluable in the UK as streets and car park spaces are much narrower than US.

I would call them very reliable. It's a great way to check if my car is locked by looking at it from far away. If the car is locked, the mirrors are folded.

I've got them on my '05 ML and frankly I hardly ever use them.

On my '05 XC90 I find the almost "required equipment" to go thru some drive throughs.

$750 + $100 install with Steve.. or $750 + install rate of your dealer.
You keep your own mirror, it's all in the mount, and an internal switch.

I recommend getting the convex mirrors also. They're great for eliminating blind spots.

I have them and I have no regrets. Mine's set so that the side mirrors fold it when I lock the car. When I unlock it and open one of the front doors the mirror unfolds. Occasionally the driver side doesn't unfold but I just have to press the fold/unfold button (located next to seat memory buttons) to fix it.
