SBC Hold..
Anyone that is familiar with the Star system, can the SBC Hold be activated on a N/A car. I would think that since the system has it, it must be just turned off of the N/A market.
Thanks.
Thanks.

"Winter" and "Summer" mode are the previous names for what are now called, I think, "Sport" and "Comfort" modes. In either case, it refers to the button that selects whether the car starts off in first or in second gear. I don't think it has anything to do with SBC.

SBC Hold is a great feature. You depress hard on the dedal at a light and the car stays there.. (as far as I have read). Anyways, I would love to have that.

Tesla
I can see why SBC hold is not implemented on US models. Imagine those grandmas stranded on the road because they step on the brake too hard.
Most Europeans car owners are enthusiasts like people on this forum. I'll bet majority of US buyers bought W211 because of the name, not the technical gadgetry. Try explaining the concept of SBC to general W211 owners, I doubt many will understand. And if you include anything "unusual" like SBC hold, I'd bet mbusa will be flooded with complaints.
It sure would be nice if StarDiag can unlock this and other features from the European models.

Studebaker had the "hill holder" option in the 40s, 50s and 60s. I think it even went back to the late 20s. Mechanical of course, not electronic. Do you suppose any of the old Studebaker people are still at MBUSA? Maybe they could show Mercedes how it is done.

SBC Hold" prevents the vehicle from moving forward during stops at traffic lights. It's no longer necessary for the driver to hold down the brake pedal or use the parking brake.
