Arrow 537...please verify
I've read all the threads regarding the 537 menu and the ability to turn on DVD capabilities. My question is will it work on a'05 E320 w/out the nav? I've read conflicting info. as to whether or not it'll work on an '05. As always, thanks!

I think the answer is.. maybe. I dont know much about the 05s except that they switched to DVD drives. It should - try it out. With MB, there are never any certainties..

'05 E320 CDI here, (US model), built 03/05 and DVD discs are not recognized in the COMAND HU

"maybe" is by far the best answer unfortunately...

That 537 trick (or whatever) can be done on SOME early 2003 US DVD comands... not on all. It can NOT be done on 2004+ US comands.

And if one upgraded the software on the early 2003 comands to get MP3 capability, it is not possible to do the 537 trick anymore.

If you want to be able to watch movie DVDs, you really have to swap your unit for a Euro spec head unit...

Just to let everyone know, 537 does work on my 06' E500. I got it this Monday and I just did the 537. Didn't try DVD's or anything... it's not important to me.

Don't worry, Sam.

You can save some money first and have the Euro comand shipped to you. The swap is very easy to DIY.

Naw... I barely have enough to pay you for what's on order left after this trip to Cabo! Mexico isn't as cheap as I remember it!

537 works...that is no problem...but it won't give the 2004 and up US comand DVD playback...and that was the question
