E 500 0-100 km/h in 6.2 secs
Mercedes quotes 6.1, but this was Auto motor sport's group test result...so 0-60 mp/h in what, good sub 6 then? Pretty fast for a non AMG Mercedes if you ask me!
It was silver/black in an Elegance outfit with those 17" five double spoke wheels you liked guys. Never thought it looks so big from the outside when on the road and among other cars, but still the slickest design by far.
Overall it won against 540i and S type 4.0 V8 by the way.

EXCELLENT man deserved to win, i think it will do 0-60 in 6.0. Yo but i may have to try to do like 5.8 or something in order to beat the GS430 and 540i. I remember reading somwhere that the 540 did 5.9 to 60

There are always discrepancies between the tests due to a variety of factors, so it makes more sense to compare the cars that participated in the same test.
In that particular one BMW surprisingly didn't go that fast, reaching 100 in 6.9 from the standstill, Jag was the worst at 7.2 secs. E 500 is faster than the present competition because all the factors are there for it - more power and torque coupled with less weight.
In any case BMW claims 0-100 in 6.2 for manual 540i (doesn't say on the website, but it's the standard transmission for it), so add some tenths for automatic. Mercedes claims 6.1 for automatic, so there.
The test results aren't surprising. I guess they'll be reversed or be equal in a year or so when BMW launches 545i with the engine from the current 745i. In any case I reckon E500 is plenty fast for its' class and price.
