Wife's call

My wife keeps telling me to let her have my car (the E) and sell hers (the SLK) and get an SL65! It will probably happen, or she'll surprise me with the SL65 for Christmas, our Anniversary or my birthday. Yes, she IS great!

Well, it just goes to show you. The MOST powerfull organ in the body is the Ovaries. They not only control what the Female body does, they also control what the Male body does.

Big tough, rule the world Men. Hah!

we balance out though.. cause I do get my way a enough of the time.
It could be a lot worse, my friend. In the end I'm sure she will still respect your decision as long as you have money in the bank, food on the table, and a roof over your head. At least she isnt wasting money on a bunch of useless sh*t like a big SUV for daily driving, 2K on clothes a month, etc..

Are you a Corsair? Looks like you have their signature yellow triangle flag on the bow. My family is in that yacht club - we always meet up at Emerald Bay

How can a wife NOT know about a car purchase? When the bank account lightens up by 90 big ones (Canadian), it's kind of hard to hide it!

Oh sure, I get the "wasting OUR money on a xxxx (insert Benz/Porsche)" bull but I can kill that with a simple rebuttle. She is welcome to dictate terms when SHE can run the businesses (did hell freeze over yet?) and earn the lifestyle.

YES!!! There is hope. Lately I've been hearing so much crap about getting sh*t from the wife and/or holding back because of her.. its depressing.

She does...

I see no point of hiding anything from my spouse, except my russianbride.com GF and 5 illegitimate kids from Zimbabwe

No really, we always purchase everything together and plan for it financially. All my ex-cars were modified anywhere from just looking good (my 20000 Hamann E39 540, my baby girls 1995 ACS E36 M3) to track use (1995 E30 M3). My girl, I mean wife was always there with me. She is my Gangsta *****... joking...

From my life’s experience it is never worth hiding anything from your significant other. Let's say she does find out about your little 6K 20' BRABUS secret, will it worth it then? How would you explain? Are you prepared to NOT have sex for the next year, LOL ????? Me? NO!!!! I just come home and say, ***** I am buying the rims, and oh yeh honey...... do you like them???

I am in the good mood today..... YEEEEEHAAAAAAA

No, we are in Dana Point Yacht Club which has a similar Burgee. However, we used to go to Emerald with our yacht club on occassion, we haven't been there in several years. We do enjoy Catalina whenever we can get over for a few days. The golf carts aren't quite up to our E but still fun to drive around the island.

What painting? That's just the dry dock where I keep the yacht during winter times. Can't you see the ocean at the background?

Its all about having a discrete account with no paper statements. a "just in case" account that the wife/fiance/girlfriend doesn't know about

Some MBs & Bimmers
My wife does not know how much I spend on my 'mods' as she doesn't like my toys (my MBs) to begin with. Whenever I pay Steve (MbenzNL) a visit during one of his trips, she knows something is up and I'll be spending money. As long as my expenditure does not impact one of the family goals (vacation plans, her gift or other financial obligation), she eases off her pressure.

BUT when it comes to buying big ticket items, not having her involved is NOT an option. Before I bought my first MB; not her favorite brand of cars; I had hinted to her for many months my impending purchase. Then, a good friend of mine who just leased a S55 and asked me to keep it over the weekend while he went out of town. I drove the S55 home and when my wife saw it, she almost went into SHOCK. She was hyperventilating so bad that I had to assured her it was a 'borrowed' car. Even had to whip out the registration slip to proof to her that the S55 was not mine.

Wow, after that experience, lesson learnt on never to buy big ticket items without her involvement.

In the market
If she asked I would tell her not to worry about it and to get back in the kitchen. Those dishes aren't going to wash themselves!

Yep, my Fidelity private account with online billing used to be used for golf gear, then I switched to buying and trading guitars and amps, now the Benz.

The golf and guitar addiction was only 3-$5,000 a year, but I was also selling gear and breaking even. The Benz is a whole new ballgame. All outgoing payments!

She has ALL my money, and she gives me $50 a week for gas, food, and entertainment. . I trained my wife right, and she knows who is the boss around here, she always let me have the final two words, "Yes dear". One time, my wife was so worried that she got on her hands and knees, and she begged me, "Please get your a** from underneath the bed"!!

Finally, my wife learned to respect me so much that she even stated that I can be the BOSS in the house, "You want to be the boss, OK. The only time you are the boss is when you are sound asleep".

Sound like mine

My wife's leaving tomorrow night for a long weekend in Chicago with her bipolar sisters, err, I mean wonderful sisters. Ahhh, finally no fear of her getting to the mailbox before I do.

This is interesting,

For my wife and I the car thing is my passion. When I met her I owned 3 cars and that somewhat excessive mentality has not changed. I would never spend the big $$$ without having her part of the decision - I value and respect her opinion and there are plenty of times that I need a reality check. We each have our mad-money accounts where we make small purchases out of. That said, we both work, have no kids, incur no debt, and try and stay somewhat rational - she wants to save, I want to spend and we meet in the middle.
