2003 E320 Front end clunk - dealer can't help?

2003 E320 Front end clunk - dealer can't help?
My 2003 E320 has a bad front end clunk coming from the front left suspension. At first when I brought it in, the mechanic said it was a loose tie rod, and replaced it. 2 days after replacing that part, it is now even worse.
My car is located in Canada and is out of warranty in one month so I am starting to fear this... all I need is being charged mega $$$ per hour for labour and the dealer not being able to diagnose the problem properly.
Does anyone know what this issue is, or have had any similar experiences? Any help is appreciated!

Had similar - replaced shock - did not help....
Then dealer spoke to MB and they recommended some bushes or something - now it is sorted.
